A Season of Smiles?
With the cold weather currently at our doors, you might think it ridiculous to start thinking about the summer months. Time moves fast however, and before you know it, we’ll be baking in temperatures you can only dream of at this time of year!
Summer is a fantastic month, full of fun and sunshine glows, but is it that way for everyone?
We’re always told that getting a good dose of sunshine vitamin D is just what the doctor ordered but for those who are in the grips of depression, summer is just another reason to feel there is no hope.
Sun and vitamin D doesn’t really do much for someone who is feeling low and depressed. In many ways, it can even make it worse; the guilt that you ‘should’ be feeling good, when you’re really not, can be enough to cause you to spiral even lower.
Here at Trifecta Health, we understand better than most just how upsetting the summer months can be for someone who is suffering from depression of any kind. Everyone is outside, smiling, laughing, having fun, but you just don’t feel it. Why don’t you feel that kind of joy? Is there something wrong?
Don’t worry if you’re asking yourself these questions, you’re not actually in the minority, but what you do need to do is reach out to us and seek help.
Depression is not something to sit on and allow to take its course. If you’re feeling low even when the sun is beating down, and you can’t really put your finger on why, we can help you banish those blues and look forward to a happier time overall.
Perhaps you’ve tried some treatment methods in the past and they didn’t work that well for you. This is a common scenario. Antidepressant medications do not work for every single person, and even if they do have an effect, many people can’t cope with the sometimes upsetting side effects that work hand in hand with these powerful medications. That isn’t the end of the treatment road however, as there are several other routes to go down. How about TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), how about different types of medications, how about Botox for depression (yes, really). We have so many different options for you to try that one size doesn’t have to fit all.
The biggest problem with depression is that it deceives the person into thinking that there is no hope, there is no way out, and that even though the sun is shining outside, it’s just not meant for them. This is wrong. This is the depression lying to you.
If you want to feel the sun on your face and enjoy the warmth and joy, it’s time to reach out and let us help you. All you need to do is call us and schedule a consultation. We can talk to you, examine your history, and work out a personalized treatment plan which suits you and you alone. From there, you can look forward to a future which is far sunnier than it is right now.
